Safeguarding Statement

Last updated: 01.09.2025

At RISE, safeguarding is at the heart of our mission to ensure every child has the support, tools, and opportunities they deserve. We believe every child has the right to grow, learn, and thrive in a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment.

Although RISE does not provide direct services to children, we take our responsibility to operate safely and transparently very seriously. Safeguarding is not simply a policy for us, it is part of who we are and how we work with schools, teachers, parents, and communities.

1. Our Commitment

We are committed to:

  • Protecting children from harm, neglect, or maltreatment.
  • Preventing the impairment of children’s health or development.
  • Ensuring children grow up in safe, caring, and supportive environments.
  • Taking action where necessary to enable all children to achieve the best possible outcomes.

2. Responsibilities

  • All staff, volunteers, and partners are expected to uphold our safeguarding values.
  • We work only with schools, PTAs, and organisations that have robust safeguarding policies of their own.
  • We provide clear guidance on safe use of the RISE platform, particularly if children are involved in fundraising activities.

3. Reporting Concerns

If you have any concerns about a child’s welfare or the safe use of the RISE platform, please contact us immediately at [Insert email]. We take all safeguarding concerns seriously and will act in line with statutory guidance.

If you believe a child is at immediate risk of harm, you should contact the police or your local safeguarding authority straight away.

4. Legal Framework

Our safeguarding approach is guided by UK legislation and statutory guidance, including:

  • The Children Act 1989.
  • The Children Act 2004.
  • Working Together to Safeguard Children.
  • Keeping Children Safe in Education.
  • The Education Act 2002.

Safeguarding Pledge

At RISE, we pledge to put the welfare of children and young people at the centre of everything we do. We promise to work only with schools and organisations that share our safeguarding standards, to act quickly and responsibly if concerns are raised, and to operate in full alignment with UK safeguarding law.

Together, we can create safe, supportive, and thriving school communities where every child has the chance to rise.
